Glendale Hotel, the Pagoda
and the Cathartic Spring
![]() |
In the fall of 1894, the beautiful Woodlawn Hotel burned. From these ashes sprang forth the more costly and magnificent Glendale Hotel, whose appearance gave added beauty to the already richly endowed Natural Park. The Glendale Hotel contained 100 rooms, splendidly furnished, with all modern conveniences. All a pleasure seeker may crave, or a patient may wish, were found here. The rates were within the reach of all, $7.00 to $14.00 per week. Mr. A. J. Allen, the manager, was an experienced man in his business, and sought to make all visitors enjoy their sojourn.
